Before we start organizing our first GIFFT Covid hit and we had to postpone, because we wanted our kick off to be personal and not just online. Besides our festival is all about art and bringing the community together.

The 1st GIFFT
the official premiere of the first gifft comes true
Our first Greek International Film Festival of Toronto happened during the pandemic with 50% capacity in the movie theaters. We paid extreme attention to health and safety measures and our first festival was 100% successful and gathered much positive feedback from excited attendants. From the beginig our festival was running in both options in person and online.

We are going national
Our Festival becomes the first nation-wide film festival that runs simultaneously in 9 cities across Canada. Now GIFFT (Greek International Film Festival of Toronto, becomes GIFFT of Canada (Greek International Film Festival Tour of Canada) The participant cities are Toronto, Ottawa, London, Hamilton, Winnipeg, Regina Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver. The only film festival in the world running at a national level. The end of the Pandemic allowed us to bring in Popular Greek Actors to attend our festival such as Tomas Arana (Echoes of the past), Giannis Tsimitselis and Katerina Geronikolou (Smyrna my Beloved).

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Presented by Agape Greek Radio, Hellenic Heritage Foundation, Itoc Media Corp. the GREEK INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL TOUR OF CANADA (GIFFT) is a showcase and celebration of Greek cinema. Held in 11 cities across Canada, GIFFT will provide an exciting platform for directors, writers, producers, and actors of Greek Heritage to showcase their exceptional art.
Participating cities include: Halifax, Toronto, Hamilton/Niagara, Ottawa, London, Ontario, Winnipeg, Regina, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR FILMMAKERS
In addition to networking events and top-notch screening facilities, the festival will provide filmmakers with the opportunity to promote their work on Agape Greek Radio.
